Halloween 2012 in a Nutshell

Ohh, how I wish that I could find the photos of the process of making my dress and key! I made the key out of foam board, and attached it to a little motor. It could be wound, and then it would unwind by itself. Alas, it broke before I got outside (the motor was too weak for the weight of the key), haha. xD I tried my best to walked around and stop like an animated doll, and I was super happy when so many people got frightened by me! Experimenting with different cosmetic techniques was a handful, though; I practiced for days, since I am not used to the application of make-up. After practicing so much, I was fairly happy with the results for Halloween day. :)

Oh my! I haven't been on here in quite a long time, huh? Hehee! xD This is how my Bride Witch turned out for 2011. I scared several people!, though, unfortunately, no one in my neighborhood recognized me (this is what happens when you live in a community of elderly people and infants)!

I was happy, however, that a cosplay community on Facebook saw my images, taken by my sister, that I was invited to join their Halloween cosplay contest! I didn't win, but I was a semi-finalist! Isn't that neat? ^-^

"Dirt"

After tearing (not cutting, because that produces clean cuts that don't look natural) holes and slits in the once pretty dress, I got some instant coffee and mixed it into a little bit of water. It was equal parts coffee and water. For the darker spots, I got a coffee ground in my fingers and dipped it into the water. Without letting go of it, I pressed and rubbed it onto the spot I wanted to be darker. I did this all for the entire back, too.
